Abui John
Abui John, Experience and professional in programming, leadership & management with creativity, research and innovation, a strong sense of responsibility. Proficient in conceptualizing, designing, implementing, reviewing, monitoring and evaluating programmes effectively and efficiently in multi-sectoral, conflict and post-conflict contexts. He holds an MSc in economic and a Master of Public Policy – a course anchored in community-based inclusive development principles.
Abui has over 10 years of experience as a development practitioner and program evaluator. He has worked with and evaluated more than 10 programmes many of them multi-regional across many States in South Sudan, on issues related to economic empowerment, Food Security and Livelihood, Education, violence against women and girls/GBV, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, and Psychosocial Support, Maternal Health and New-born Child health, nutrition and food security, women rights and empowerment, child rights and protection, social norms, etc. The latest studies in South Sudan included An assessment conducted for Deft Edge Consultancy on evaluation of WFP contribution to market systems in South Sudan and Bangladesh 2018 to 2022, Dallaire Institute on “Advancing the Vancouver Principles in Africa” and Africa Education Trust (AET) Education On Air project targeting internally displaced populations in Upper Nile State, North of South Sudan. He has in the past supported in undertaking feasibility studies and part of the team to Pibor which conduct Mutli Sectorial Humanitarian Needs Assessment Report, Nyirol, And Akobo West Counties in Jonglei State South Sudan (Focus: FSL, WASH, Nutrition and Protection) in April 2021.
In general, Abui has a fairly understanding of the South Sudan humanitarian programme and system, political-social context as well as both the development in humanitarian context. Abui has extensive experience in undertaking participatory research, project reviews, and evaluation studies using qualitative and quantitative methodologies and tools. He is particularly well versed in the use of both face-to-face and remote data collection methods and analysis platforms which are essential for effective delivery of an assignment of this nature. Abui is professionally fluent in English, proficient in Arabic and other South Sudanese languages.
