Alexa von Fersen
Alexa von Fersen has dedicated over 26 years to public service through her combined military and law enforcement careers. Serving 8 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Signaller, Alexa specialized in tactical communications, signal security, and network coordination in both domestic and international operations. Her expertise was maintaining secure communications links in challenging field environments, and supporting mission-critical information flow between command and operational units.
Following her CAF service, Alexa transitioned to law enforcement, joining the RCMP in 2006. She served her community in roles such as patrol, crime reduction, and property crime units before specializing in close protection. For the past 13 years, Alexa has provided security for high-profile domestic and foreign dignitaries. Her work in protective operations has required exceptional planning, discretion, and coordination with multiple agencies and partners. Alexa is a certified instructor in close protection driving tactics and has played a key role in training initiatives at the regional and national level. She is a leader in her field, and committed to developing the skills and readiness of others.
Alexa’s work with the Dallaire Institute began in 2018 when she attended the Veteran Trainers to Eradicate the Use of Child Soldiers program (VTECS) at Dalhousie University. Alexa’s time with the Dallaire Institute ignited a genuine commitment to the important work they do globally. Their mission continues to motivate her to stay connected and contribute in meaningful ways whenever possible.
