Anastasiya ROMANSKA
Anastasiya Romanska joined the Dallaire Institute in 2024 as a Community Engagement Advisor, helping integrate children's and community perspectives into security sector responses. Born in Ukraine and raised in Toronto, she has long been driven by a passion for peacekeeping and sustainable development.
Anastasiya holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Master's Degree in Global Security from King's College London, with her research examining artificial intelligence's impact on Canada's media landscape and national sovereignty.
Before joining the Dallaire Institute, Anastasiya worked as a segment producer on Canada's Breakfast Television and later served as the Press Secretary and Senior Communications Advisor for the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. With an interest in children's rights, she specialized in humanitarian stories including the courageous journeys of those seeking refuge from the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Anastasiya is a strong believer in plain language and storytelling, seeking to make complex ideas accessible to diverse audiences. She believes that everyone should have the opportunity to share their story and have their voice heard.
In her spare time, Anastasiya works as a Skate Canada figure skating coach, sharing her love for the ice with the next generation of skaters.
