Osvaldo Carlos Tivane
Osvaldo Carlos Tivane is the Training Officer for the Dallaire Institute in Mozambique, a role that reflects both his personal journey and deep commitment to child protection and human rights. His path began at the age of 18, when circumstances led him to attend a teaching college in order to support his younger siblings. During his years as a teacher, he developed a profound compassion for children living in vulnerable conditions and committed himself to helping them in any way he could.
After four years in education, Osvaldo joined the military, where he served as a trainer for the National Service and later as an English monitor at the Defence Language School. In 2022, he became a co-facilitator for the Dallaire Institute’s training programs. Driven by his passion for justice and child protection, he pursued studies in Law and Criminal Investigation and is currently undertaking a master's degree.
Osvaldo’s introduction to the Dallaire Institute came when he volunteered as a translator for one of its basic training sessions. The experience reignited his passion for working with children. His outstanding dedication led to his selection for the Institute’s Training of Trainers (ToT) program, and later, the Leaders Training in Kigali, where he was inspired by the Institute’s unique and impactful curriculum.
Motivated by a strong sense of purpose, Osvaldo applied for and was selected as a Training Officer, a role he describes as his true calling. Today, he considers the Dallaire Institute not just a workplace but a home for learning, growth, and meaningful service to children across Africa.
